Book Review: Do No Harm

Do No Harm by Christina McDonald.

Thank you to Simon and Schuster Canada for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

About The Book

Emma loves her life. She’s the mother of a precocious kindergartener, married to her soulmate—a loyal and loving police detective—and has a rewarding career as a doctor at the local hospital.

But everything comes crashing down when her son, Josh, is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

Determined to save him, Emma makes the risky decision to sell opioids to fund the life-saving treatment he needs. But when somebody ends up dead, a lethal game of cat and mouse ensues, her own husband leading the chase. With her son’s life hanging in the balance, Emma is dragged into the dark world of drugs, lies, and murder. Will the truth catch up to her before she can save Josh?

My Review

Do No Harm is told from two perspectives with alternating narrators with each chapter between husband and wife Nate, who is a police detective, and Emma, an emergency room physician.

As I was reading I was asking myself what would I do if I was Emma or Nate? The narrators were so good in this book. Emma had me believing her lies.

The plot twists in this book were so expertly written and at just the right time. This book is an adrenaline rush and had me turning the pages. I had to finish reading before bed so I could find out what happened at the end. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

My Rating: 5/5
