About The Book
Since the loss of her fiancé, Anna has spent the last year foundering on land, shipwrecked by her grief and inability to move on. But when a reminder goes off about a trip they were supposed to take, she impulsively sets off in their sailboat, intending to complete the planned voyage around the Caribbean that Ben had mapped out for them.
But after a treacherous night's sail and a brush with an ocean tanker, she decides she can’t do it alone, and hires a professional sailor to help her get to Puerto Rico. Much like her, Keane is struggling with a very different future than the one he had planned, and he can’t refuse her offer. Together they find a way to rebuild their lives and the possibility of new love.
My Review
The main characters in this story are Anna and Keane. This book is a rom-com and a second chance at love while at the same time it is a story of grief and having the courage and strength to start over. This book is about a fresh start and an adventure. I felt like I was right there with Anna and Keane on their sailing trip. I enjoyed the author's descriptions of the destinations and the food and the sights Anna and Keane explored.
There is also a bit of an suspense element to this story as we sail along with Anna as she encounters challenges, only now she is better prepared to handle these challenges. I enjoyed seeing Anna and Keane develop a friendship and then a relationship as they faced the trials and challenges of sailing together.
Anna and Keane seemed to find each other at just the right time in their lives, when they seemed to need each other the most. I thought the ending was cute and tied the story together nicely, but at the same time left the reader wondering just a little bit what is next for Anna and Keane on their adventure.
My Rating: 4/5
