January Reads Wrap Up Post
I would like to share a recap of what I read in the month of January. I read a mix of physical books and audiobooks last month.
𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗪𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗨𝗽!
I read 5 print books in January and listened to 3 audiobooks. Two audiobooks were via Libby library app and I listened to one audiobook on Audible (free trial).
I read 63% physical books and 38% audiobooks for January. I read a total of 1,910 pages of physical books and listened to 29.35 hours of audiobooks.
My favorite read for the month of January was Queens Of London by Heather Webb. This book really transported me to London. The alternating narrators made for a page turning read and that first sentence really grabbed my attention. Thank you to Sourcebooks for the advanced copy.

Physical Books
Queens Of London by Heather Webb. My Rating: 5 ⭐️.
This book really transported me to London. The alternating narrators made for a page turning read and that first sentence really grabbed my attention.
Our House by Louise Candlish. My Rating: 3.5 ⭐️.
The use of podcast episodes and a typed document as the two narrators pov's in this book was an interesting choice. It took me a bit to get into the groove with this book.
For The Last Time by Heidi Perks. My Rating: 4 ⭐️.
I borrowed this book from local library. I really enjoyed the alternating chapters with each chapter changing between the several narrators of this book. I have discovered that I rather enjoy reading a thriller/suspense genre novel that starts off with the end result or the crime and then goes back to the beginning before the event and works towards the end allowing the reader to attempt to solve the crime themselves before the ending of the book. I did find some portion of the ending to be a bit predictable, but overall I was pleased with the ending of this book.
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. My Rating: 3.75 ⭐️ .
There is plenty of banter back and forth in this book and character development and growth too. This book featured some of my favorite romance tropes - only one bed, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and fake dating/fake marriage.
The Last Mona Lisa by Jonathan Santlofer. My Rating: 4 ⭐️ .
I found that the changing between narrators was a bit abrupt between chapters. I enjoyed Luke's POV and am thankful this was the focus of the book. I didn’t find any of the characters to be particularly memorable, but overall a satisfying historical mystery reminiscent of The Da Vinci Code for art lovers. Thank you to Sourcebooks for sharing the book with me.

Audiobooks
🎧
All The Dark Places by Terri Parlato. I listened to this book via Audible app in 11 hrs. 4 ⭐️.
This book had two different narrators, one for each character pov and I had to listen to one narrator at a faster speed than was ideal because the other narrator was reading much slower and I didn't want to keep adjusting the speed up and down each chapter.
🎧
A Lady's Guide To Fortune Hunting by Sophie Irwin.
I listened to this book via Libby library app in 9hrs and 40 minutes. 4 ⭐️. I rather enjoyed the narrator and the tone of this audiobook. A pleasant listen and a witty book.
🎧
A Lady's Guide To Scandal by Sophie Irwin.
I listened to this book via Libby library app in 13 hrs and 27 minutes. 3 ⭐️. The tone was much different in this book in terms of the characters. I didn't find them to be at all likeable and at times were a bit annoying. I didn't enjoy like the first book in series.
